Southern Judges Club calls to suspend work in all Aden courts

0

The Administrative Board of the Southern Judges Club in the coalition-held Aden province declared on Saturday it would suspend work in all courts and public prosecution offices in the city, starting on Sunday.

It said in a statement that the step came in protest against what it described as arbitrary decisions taken by the Supreme Judicial Council against the chief and members of the club’s Administrative Board.

The statement clarified that the protest also came after the expiry of the deadline granted by the Administrative Board to the Supreme Judicial Council to respond to legitimate demands, most notably the reversal of the punitive and arbitrary measures against judges.

It added that the Council showed no response within the specified deadline, but rather escalated and became intransigent.

The Southern Judges Club called on all its members in Aden to fully comply with this decision.
