The Palestine Red Crescent Society confirmed that an Israeli airstrike targeted its headquarters in Khan Younis, Gaza, killing one staff member and injuring three others, as the regime’s attacks on civilian infrastructure intensify amid worsening humanitarian conditions.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) announced on Sunday that one of its employees was killed and three others were wounded when Israeli forces struck its main headquarters in Khan Younis, southern Gaza.

“One Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) staff member was killed and three others injured after Israeli forces targeted the Society’s headquarters in Khan Younis, igniting a fire on the building’s first floor,” the organization stated on X.

Footage released by the PRCS shows flames engulfing parts of the building, with debris scattered across the floors.

The deliberate targeting of the humanitarian facility occurred just two days after US envoy Steve Witkoff visited a US-funded aid station in Gaza, ostensibly to assess food distribution in the besieged enclave.

Nearly two years into Israel’s brutal war, UN agencies have warned that Gaza stands on the edge of a full-blown famine, with relentless Israeli bombardments crippling relief efforts.

In March, an Israeli strike in southern Gaza claimed the lives of eight aid workers—six from Gaza’s civil defense, one from the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), and another from the PRCS—according to the UN’s humanitarian coordination office, OCHA.

Israel’s genocidal campaign has killed at least 60,332 Palestinians, the vast majority of them civilians, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
