The Israeli occupation forces bombed the Nabatieh highlands and Aita al-Shaab in further violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty.

Southern Lebanon was rocked by a new wave of Israeli airstrikes early Sunday, as the Israeli occupation intensified its aerial assault on multiple locations across the Nabatieh Governorate, including the highlands of Ali al-Taher and al-Dabsha, as well as the outskirts of Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Kfar Tibnit, according to Al Mayadeen’s correspondent.

The occupation forces also launched intensive fire belts in the mountainous region of Ali al-Taher, further endangering civilians in the surrounding areas of Nabatieh al-Fawqa. Israeli warplanes returned repeatedly to bomb the same targets in rapid succession.

Simultaneously, the skies above the targeted zones witnessed a heavy presence of Israeli surveillance and attack drones, raising further alarm among local residents.

Drone strike hits Aita al-Shaab

In a separate incident earlier this morning, an Israeli drone strike hit a residential home in the border town of Aita al-Shaab, also in southern Lebanon. The scale of damage and casualties from the strike have yet to be confirmed.

On Friday, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that one Lebanese citizen was killed in yet another Israeli violation, striking this time a vehicle in the Nabatieh district, southern Lebanon.

In detail, an Israeli drone struck a civilian car in the town of Sir al-Gharbiyeh, in the Nabatieh district of South Lebanon, killing its driver.

Escalating airstrikes

On Thursday, Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of airstrikes on the outskirts of the southern towns of al-Qatrani, al-Jarmaq, and al-Mahmoudiyah. An Israeli drone also dropped four bombs on Kfar Kila, one of which struck a municipal vehicle, causing material damage.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces stationed at Roueissat al-Alam position opened fire toward the outskirts of Kfar Chouba.

Another Israeli airstrike targeted the Jabbour Heights in Western Bekaa, in the Bekaa governorate.

The Israeli attacks come amid continuing Israeli violations across different parts of Lebanon, despite the ceasefire announced on November 27, 2024.
