The holy Iraqi city of Karabala is hosting the fourth Al-Aqsa Call Conference amid the ongoing genocidal Israeli war on Gaza and ahead of Arbaeen.
The conference, which kicked off on Friday and lasts till Monday, is attended by hundreds of prominent Palestinian and international figures from more than 70 countries, Iraqi media reported.
The second day of the pro-Palestine conference witnessed several sessions run by three committees that discussed religious, social, media and other forms of support to the Palestinian people being subjected to brutal Israeli war since October 2023.
Launched in September 2022, the conference is held yearly ahead of Arbaeen in the holy city of Karbala, under the sponsorship of Al-Ataba Al-Husseiniyah – the body which runs the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (a.s.).
With the large influx of pilgrims during Arbaeen in Karbala, the conference seeks to amplify global and religious solidarity with the Palestinian cause by highlighting the shared values between the uprising of Imam Hussein and confronting hegemony.
Arbaeen marks the 40th day after Ashura, when Imam Hussein (a.s.) was brutally murdered alongside his family and companions by the notorious Umayyad Caliph Yazid Ibn Muawiya.
