The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran stated that any negotiations with the United States depend on what serves Iran’s interests.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News Agency, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stated during the “Tehran, Iran, World” program on Tehran TV: In line with safeguarding Iran’s interests, we fight wherever necessary, and we engage in diplomacy and negotiations wherever necessary. We do not relinquish any of the tools at our disposal for securing our interests.”
Araghchi emphasized, “Our negotiation logic is also very clear. We have complete confidence in the peaceful nature of our nuclear program, and we have no problem conveying this confidence to others — in other words, building trust. But on the other hand, the sanctions must be lifted, and our right to a peaceful nuclear program — including access to peaceful nuclear energy and especially uranium enrichment — must be respected.”
The Iranian Foreign Minister said: “We previously entered negotiations with the same logic, but the other side refused to accept it and tried to resolve the issue through military options. Now, they have realized that the military option has been ineffective. Therefore, if new negotiations are to take place, I believe they will come to the table with this understanding — that the option they chose has failed, and now they are compelled to enter into fair negotiations.”
