The Spokesperson for the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) announced on Wednesday that Israeli fighter jets have once again bombed the Syrian Army strongholds near the Golan Heights in Southwestern Syria.

“In response to the projectiles which hit Israel today, IAF targeted artillery positions of the Syrian Regime in the Syrian Golan Heights,” a statement by the Israel Defense Force spokesperson claimed.
Tension between Israeli and Syrian forces escalated early Tuesday after Damascus announced that Syrian air-defense units deployed in the Southwest of the country have shot down two Israeli aircraft in Quneitra province
The General Staff of the Syrian Armed Forces announced also on Tuesday that the county’s air-defense units deployed in the Southwest of the country shot down two Israeli aircraft in Quneitra province.
“An Israeli aircraft, which had violated the airspace of the Southwestern parts of Quneitra province, was traced and shot downed by the anti-aircraft missiles of the Syrian Army in the early hours of this morning,” the country’s General Staff said in statement.
“Meanwhile, an Israeli spy drone was also targeted by the Syrian army fire on the Western side of Sa’asa’a near the Golan Heights,” the statement added.
The Israeli military aircraft had violated Syrian territories to back the terrorist groups’ offensives on the government forces’ positions near the Golan Heights in Quneitra.
