The Yemeni army and popular forces downed a Saudi spy drone in Jizan province by using a remote-controlled device in a bid to safely capture the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
The Yemeni forces managed to bring down the Saudi unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in a safe and sound manner, al-Masyra TV reported.
Last week, the Yemeni fighters brought down a spy drone belonging to the United Arab Emirates in Yemen’s Southern region of Mukayris.
The drone was shot down in Mukayris, which is situated between the Abyan and Bayda provinces.
Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 159 days now to restore power to fugitive president Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has so far killed at least 5,602 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children.
Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.
Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
