US police arrested a Utah woman Sunday, alleging she killed seven babies and stuffed their bodies in cardboard boxes in the garage of her previous home.
39-year-old Megan Huntsman, who lived in the Pleasant Grove home until three years ago, gave birth to the infants before killing them between 1996 and 2006.
According to Police Capt. Michael Roberts, officers received a call Saturday from Huntsman’s estranged husband who said there was a dead infant at the home about 35 miles south of Salt Lake City.
The former husband and some family members found the dead body when they were cleaning out the garage of their home on April 12.
Officers who arrived at the scene also found six other bodies.
Huntsman left the home three years ago to live alone but her three daughters are still living with their father in the house.
Neighbors say they were shocked by the allegations and the fact that the woman’s older children still living in the home did not notice their mother was pregnant or notice anything suspicious.
Huntsman was booked into jail on six accounts of murder.
