Chief custodian and trustee of the Astan Quds Razavi, a charitable organization holding trusteeship of the eighth Imam’s shrine in Iran, held talks with Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance Movement Seyed Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut.

The Iranian cleric, Hojatoleslam Seyed Ebrahim Raeesi, met Nasrallah in Beirut on Sunday after meetings with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and the head of Lebanon’s Higher Islamic Shiite Council Sheikh Abdel-Amir Qabalan.

Accompanied by Iran’s ambassador to Beirut, the top Iranian religious official talked about the latest regional developments as well as the social and cultural issues in the meeting with the Hezbollah chief.

In August 2017, some two months after being reelected for another 4-year term, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said his administration would continue backing the Lebanese people and government, stressing the need for closer ties between the two Middle Eastern nations in all areas.
