Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari has said Lebanon is a symbol of resistance against the Zionist occupation and Takfiri terrorism.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Sheikh Naeem Hassan of Lebanon’s Druze sect of Al-Mohadeen on Tuesday morning.
He expressed satisfaction with the sympathy and agreement among the political and religious leaders of Lebanon, and praised the positive role of Al-Mohadeen in shaping national understanding and establishing political and social stability in Lebanon.
“Lebanon symbolizes the coexistence of various Islamic and Christian religions and sects, as well as the symbol of resistance against the Zionist occupation and Takfiri terrorism,” Jaberi Ansari said, adding the Islamic Republic of Iran supports the unity.
Sheikh Naeem Hassan, for his part, also expressed gratitude for Iran’s constructive role in the region and hailed the reelection of Dr. Rouhani as the Iranian president.
He regretted the human tragedies in the region, calling the return to the Quran and the Prophet Seerah the only solution to end the current violence, aggression and crisis in the region.
