Lebanon on Thursday celebrated liberation of eastern parts of the country from Takfiri (extremist) terrorists’ occupation a few days after complete expulsion of Daesh (also known as ISIL) terrorists from the country’s joint borders with Syria.
The ceremony hosted by the Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance movement in the city of Baalback was attended by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari.
During the ceremony titled “The Second Victory”, Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hasan Nasrallah announced via video conference that the land that was seized by ISIL inside the Lebanese and Syrian territories was completely liberated, pointing out that 2920 square kilometer of the Syrian territories and 764 square kilometer of the Lebanese territories were under the control of the terrorist group.
Nasrallah referred to the efforts and sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army and said, he had personally went to Syria and met with Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad to ask him for army participation in battle.
Nasrallah also expressed his gratitude to Iran for its readiness to aid the Lebanese Army without conditions.
He described the recent Takfiri terrorists’ defeats as “failure of the Zionist regime and the US.”
On Sunday, a ceasefire agreed between Lebanese army, the Hezbollah group and Daesh (also known as ISIS or ISIL) terrorists via mediators came into force.
Lebanon Hezbollah resistance movement Leader on Monday declared that the mission for expel of Daesh from Lebanese territory has been accomplished.
According to the deal, around 600 terrorists and family members have now left Lebanon and crossed the border into eastern Syria.
The victory over Takfiris in the Eastern Lebanon region was achieved due to the coordinated operation of Lebanese Army inside the Lebanon and the Syrian Army and Hezbollah on the Syrian side.
