The situation in Kashmir remained tense for 49th consecutive day as curfew and shutdown continued to impact normal life.
Indian authorities said that a curfew will also be imposed in Anantnag, Pulwama, Badgam, Shopian and Srinagar while restrictions would remain in force in other areas of the Indian-controlled Valley, India Today reported.
Most local Kashmiri leaders, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and Yasin Malik, are either detained or arrested.
Mirwaiz was shifted to nearby Nigeen police station from his residence, where he had been placed under house arrest by Indian authorities.
Meanwhile, the authorities have deployed more paramilitary force to reinforce the curfew in the valley.
Clashes and protests were reported from many parts of Kashmir with the death toll rising to 69 and number of injured to 10,000.
