A prominent Iranian Quran master described the country’s representative in this year’s Malaysia international Quran contest as being among the best present in the competition.
Ahmad Abolqassemi hoped that Iran’s Hamed Valizadeh Khalkhali will have an excellent performance in the international event.
Abolqassemi has accompanied Valizadeh Khalkhali to Kuala Lumpur as an adviser and guide.
The 56th edition of Malaysia’s International Holy Quran Competition was launched in Kuala Lumpur on Monday, June 16.
Abolqassemi, winner of the first rank in Malaysia’s Quranic event in 1993, told IRNA that Iran’s representative is capable of bagging the first or second prize.
He noted that Iranian Qaris have come first in 8 editions of the Malaysian international Quran competition and won the second rank in 30 other editions.
He further referred to the jury panel of this year’s Quran contest and said prominent Quranic figures have been invited to form the panel but one should wait and see how their performance will be.
