In remembrance of Tir 7th martyrs

On 28 June 1981 – the 7th of Tir 1360 in the Persian Solar calendar – a powerful bomb blasted at the headquarters of the Iran Islamic Republic Party (IRP) in Tehran, while the members in a meeting.

Tir 7th martyrsSeventy-two officials of the Islamic Republic were killed, including Chief Justice Ayatollah Mohammad Beheshti – who was the speaker of the parliament – four cabinet ministers, twenty-seven members of the Parliament and several other government officials.

The terrorist group of MKO was responsible for the attack although they never publicly confirmed or denied responsibility for the deed.

A day before, a failed assassination was attempted on Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenie (Leader of the Islamic Revolution) who was the president then. The attempt failed to kill him but injured his left hand.

The Monafiqen Khalq Organization (MKO or Monafiqen-e Khalgh) is an armed Iranian opposition group that was formed in 1965 during Shah Regime. After the Islamic Revolution of Iran in 1979 and the Shah regime was overthrown by the Iranians who were followers of Imam Khomeini the organization turned to be an opposition of the newly established regime.

MEK is mistakenly claimed to be an Islamic organization while the principles followed by the members did not read with the basics of the Islamic lessons.

After the Islamic Revolution of Iran and during the imposed Iraqi war upon Iranians MEK members were camped inside Iraq and they did slaughter many Iranians and had tried for a lot of sabotaging inside Iran.

The organization claimed the responsibility of 12,000 Iranians slaughter for no crime. They also killed many Iraqi and Shiites and Kurd in accordance to Saddam’s wills.

On Tir 7th event the terrorist organization of MEK stated the attack was a necessary reaction to the Islamic republic of Iran.
