Complying with the Quran brings about development and prosperity in the Islamic society, Leader of the Islamic Ummah Ayatollah Seyed Imam Ali Khamenei said, warning that disobedience to the Muslims’ holy book would result in humiliation and vulnerability.
The failure to comply with the teachings of Quran has made the Islamic countries suffer from underdevelopment and domination of pagans, Ayatollah Khamenei said in a meeting with the participants of the 35th International Quran Competitions in Tehran on Thursday.
Ignoring the Quran will result in vulnerability and “humiliation disease”, the Leader noted, saying the very same diseases has encouraged the US president to brazenly say that some Arab states wouldn’t last a week without US protection.
On Tuesday, US President Donald trump said some countries in the Middle East would not last without US support.
“They wouldn’t be there except for the United States. They wouldn’t last a week. We are protecting them. They have to now step up and pay for what is happening,” Trump said.
Ayatollah Khamenei further highlighted the Quran’s emphasis on Muslim unity and avoidance of the front of pagans, saying, “Unfortunately, we are witnessing today that certain Islamic countries are in contact with the Zionist regime (of Israel), as such disobedience to the teachings of Quran has resulted in the current wars and crimes in the region.”
In comments in June 2016, Ayatollah Khamenei had urged efforts to propagate the content of the Quran to fill the “spiritual vacuum” that has resulted in rising crimes in the West.
