Envoy: China Resolved to Deepen Relations with Iran

Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Wang Di underlined that Beijing deems expansion of relations with Tehran as of paramount importance, and said that this will surely help to the restoration of regional stability and tranquility.

“China has good relations with Iran and it is ready to further expand bilateral relations,” Wang said.

He, meantime, said that Beijing always supports Iran’s talks with its Southern neighbors, adding, “My country is for the expansion of relations between Tehran and Beijing to promote regional stability.”

Wang reiterated that effective measures have been taken so far to pave the way for negotiations between Tehran and the Arab states of the Persian Gulf and these measures can be fruitful.

“All regional countries are in need of sustainable development and China has good relations with Tehran and the Arab states of the Persian Gulf, hence effective measures have to be taken to promote regional stability,” the ambassador added.

In relevant remarks in mid-November, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in a meeting with Chinese Defense Minister General Chang Wanquan underlined the necessity for strengthened defense and anti-terrorism cooperation between the two countries.

“The two countries’ cooperation should increase to confront and fight against the big danger of terrorism,” President Rouhani said during the meeting in Tehran.

Noting that the Iranian and Chinese military officials’ reciprocal meetings will strengthen mutual cooperation in defensive fields, he said, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is fully ready to implement all agreements with China based on the roadmap of cooperation, and the defense field is an important part of this cooperation.”
