Chairman of the Iranian Shura Council’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said that a joint Iranian, Syrian, Iraqi and Lebanese parliamentary meeting will be kicked off in Tehran on March 10.
Pointing to his recent visit to Syria and Lebanon, Boroujerdi underlined that countering Takfiris was the main issue discussed with Speaker of the People’s Assembly, Mohammad Jihad al-Laham and the senior officials in the two countries.
Although the Americans claim that they are trying to settle the Syrian crisis through diplomacy, they are in fact pursing the military option aimed at political restructuring of that Arab country, the Iranian MP noted.
Boroujerdi said Syria’s situation is improving and ‘’developments in Syria forced all to concede that the crisis there has no military solution.’’
Boroujerdi hoped that the ‘end of the crisis is imminent despite the fact that the Americans insist on their previous mistakes and the Zionist entity is still involved.’
As to recent Israeli attack on Lebanon, he said such moves prove that terrorist groups are directly supported by the Israel.
