Five members of a family, including two children, have been found dead in an apparent murder-suicide in Thailand’s capital, Bangkok, on New Year’s Eve.
The bodies of a 64-year-old man and his two children were found hanged in a rental home in Bang Yee Rua of Thong Buri district around 8.30 p.m. on Wednesday local time, while the bodies of the man’s mother and sister were found lying on the ground floor, Thai media reported on Thursday.
Police found no signs of forced entry or struggle, but Thai newspaper Rath said that an apparent suicide note written by the father quoted financial
problems.
According to the landlord of the family’s rental home, who found the bodies, the family had planned to move out of the home on New Year’s day.
The bodies were transferred to a forensics centre to identify the cause of death.
